What is Staff & Family Consultation?

Staff & Family Consultation is receiving the support needed to make your lives easier with strategies for meeting the client’s needs. We do this through:

• Learning and navigating local resources for various support needs

• Finding sources for community engagement

• Identifying ways to support the client’s communication and learning needs

  • reading school curriculum and creating homework support

  • understanding and utilizing picture support systems

  • managing routines that embrace client lifestyles

• Gaining an understanding how the disability impacts the client and their families

  • reading a diagnosis, 504, IEP, or Behavior Plan

  • navigating strategies to mitigate problem areas

• Understanding of sensory integration needs and how that impacts client day to day life
